Profile System - SPS (For Augustus Martin):
ASH has been fortunate
to cater one of the largest companies in the UK as one of its initial
clients, namely LloydsTSB and Augustus Martin. The latter is one
of the biggest stationary suppliers to the bank, which includes
stationary for their huge marketing campaigns (posters, flyers,
etc).
The Project was procured
from our Partner firm, Associated Business Solutions Ltd, UK.
a) Objective
SPS is a typical business-to-business (B2B) application that allows
the user to forward plan campaigns, whether Primary, Secondary
or Tactical. Based upon a flow of input information, the system
has the ability to view previous as well as future campaigns within
their relevant tactical profile. This can be viewed graphically
as and when necessary, subdivided by time, profile and/or even
branch level.

b) Overview
SPS defines branches according to the Hierarchical Structure of
Tactical Campaigns as documented by the Client. Based on this hierarchy,
for every branch, campaigns are created namely Primary, Secondary
and Tactical - which originate from initial campaign either directly
or indirectly. Every campaign consists of certain items along with
quantity and can be categorised as Product, Branch Information,
Depot and Marketing Codes. Once we have defined all these elements
a transaction is complete in which certain items of campaigns are
assigned to Branches/Stores. A branch can have more than one campaign
having different items but not the same item again.
Once attributes with
live date and branch ID are assigned then the particular campaign
or branch campaign(s) can be viewed graphically. This graphical
representation is achieved using Gantt Chart within Microsoft Project
98, which is fully integrated and an imperative part of SPS.
The system provides the
facility to enter data relating to all master and transaction files
using carefully designed forms with user friendly Navigation
Bar, posting the proper flow of campaigns and finally printing
of various pre-designed reports and showing activity status for
each campaign in graphical format. Tools Used: MS Visual Basic,
MS Access, MS Project.
c) SPS Features
SPS is a fully upgradeable, configurable, Campaign Management System
with Branch, Campaign, Items, Products, Deport and is fully Integrated
with Microsoft Project 98 to show Gantt Chart functionality for
Campaigns.
SPS utilises a menu-driven
system, which is user friendly and easy to upgrade should the future
business requirements change. SPS can be used both as a stand-alone
application and/or over the network.
